Molten basketballs have been chosen by FIBA as the official basketball for the Beijing Olympics.

Mr. Tamiaki, president, Molten Corporation commented that
“Molten basketballs have been the official balls for various international competitions such as the Olympics and the World Championships since the 1982 FIBA World Championship. Indeed, Molten balls have been appointed as the official basketballs for the Olympic Games seven times consecutively since the 1984 Games in Los Angles. I am therefore very pleased that our basketball has been chosen for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the first Olympics ever to be held in China, and to announce that the official Olympic basketball is to be printed with the Beijing Olympic Games logo.
