Under 18 & 16 National leagues 2006/07

England Basketball have published a list of the teams who have applied to play in the 2006/07 national league at U18 & U16 men/women. Under 18 womens league looks good with Manchester, essex & herts and solent amongst other joining. Lets hope it is organised on ability this season and not geograhy. The U18 & U16 mens leagues look as tough as ever.

U18 Women format

BD isnt it down to the clubs to suggest to EB what format they prefer. I cant see your wish coming ture. Not all teams will want to travel all over england with this age group and it appears theres a 2 x 9 split with north and south teams. If there were more clubs it may be possible to have a premier and north / south confs

National Junior leagues

In the girls Under 16 league there will be a lot of travelling involved . Its hard to understand why there isnt a south west division of Devon , Exeter , Wiltshire , Reading , Solent , Sevenoaks, Chiltern , similar to last year . Clubs that run an all age development programme really dont need to be sending teams hundreds of miles when there are better games in local leagues .
